Artist Statement
This series is reflective of the emotions present as we begin year two of the pandemic. While the initial feelings revolved around fear, insecurity, anxiety, and adaptation after a year of living in quarantine the mindset has changed. The primary feelings now are that of gratitude for persisting through this very difficult time, optimism about the future along with an uneasiness about the transition to a new normal and a greater awareness of the passage of time. This series was created with original photographs and handwritten words paired digitally representing the feeling as we cross the threshold into the second year of the pandemic and approach spring with a new hope.
